"Webkinz Basset Hound a very cute dog and made well. For the price it is a tad smallish? But is perfect size for a kid to carry around without knocking down everything she comes into contact with. His face is too adorable with the folds like a real basset hound around the eyes. The picture does not do it justice. My daughter received this for her birthday and really loves him. "My daughter just got this Webkinz Horse for her 9th birthday and it's one of her favorite presents. I wasn't familiar with Webkinz and when I saw it, I thought, "not another stuffed horse!" because she loves stuffed animals but already has plenty. Then later I noticed she was playing a new game on the computer and the little animated horse on it looked a lot like her stuffed animal. The Webkinz stuffed toy comes with a code so you can go to a website and play games with the animal. She showed me the how she could dress the horse, have it play with toys she had "bought" for it, feed it, etc. and put it to bed. It's sort of like Toontown, but more basic in the animation, or an extremely basic version of Nintendogs. I plan to buy Webkinz for her cousins who are similar age, since my daughter does enjoy it."

Its been difficult trying to locate a Webkinz in any store, so I took a chance on ordering one online. I was very pleasantly surprised that the Webkin Unicorn was top quality. It arrived in brand new condition, was full-size, and had the necessary neck tag (with web code) intact.

If you are looking at the Webkinz cards, then you probably know all about them. I rated the cards as 5 stars for "fun" because that feature code can be VERY fun. I think Webkinz in general is a 5 for fun and a '2' for education. Durability I rated a 1 because once the feature code card is used, its used and all applicable items are placed in your dock in Webkinz world. And until you have a more than just 5 cards you can't play the 'playing card' game that is explained. But overall, I rated the CARDS a 4/5. Those people at Ganz are making money hand over fist, they are so darn popular in Connecticut!


Regarding this selling outfit - quick, reliable shipping. Everything was sealed and new. "For those of you who aren't familiar with Webkinz,here's a description:

You purchase a stuffed animal (ex.gr. Webkinz Leopard) and look on the inside of the tag for a secret code which you enter on the website. Upon doing this, your stuffed toy "comes to life" as they put it. Your webkinz is a virtual pet that you can play with, feed and bathe. You start out with one room, but you can get more rooms if you purchase more pets.(but thats a long story) You can play arcade games to earn Kinz cash, the currency on Webkinz that you use to purchase furniture and food.
Now that you know what Webkinz is, let me tell you about my ratings.
It's 4/5 for fun, because while the computer part is fun, your stuffed toy is a waste because you don't care about it, just the computer. For educational value, i gave it a 4/5 because it does kind of teach kids to care for pets, it also means the kids are glued to the PC for hours at a time, which isn't good because they could be outside excersisng and enjoying the day.
The toy is 5/5 for durability. Except in my case, where my dog steals it and rips the fluff out of it. :)) Overall it's a pretty good toy with a few minor disappointments here and there.
I would recommend this toy kids 7 and up, but that dpends on how comfortable you are with your child chatting to other people. I forgot to mention that in webkinz world you can have a friends list and invite them to your room or challenge them to a game and send them pre-written letters. You can also chat with them, but only using innocent pre-written messages such as "you're room is so cool!" and "follow me!" This is called Kinz chat, and it's very safe, but boring for older kids who use the website. The bad part is Webkinz has introduced something called the clubhouse. Theres two clubhouses - Kinz chat and Kinz chat plus, which is the one you can type actual messages.(You can only enter that one if your parents ok it)

Webkinz Tree Frog mailed to grandson who danced around his kitchen when he received it. "Hopper" is receiving much love and Grandma is a hero. Have been unable to find the Webkins Tree Frog in the Hartford, Ct area.. Thank heavens for Goods-o-matic Delivery was quick and nicely packaged. Most especially it was full sized as pictured. Have heard complaints from others who ordered on the web to find ordered Webkinz were the smaller ones and had not been listed as such. Conclusion: Happy with Tree Frog Webkins, Happy with Goods-o-matic.Com.


"You can not see it but this guy has glitter spots on his belly. Nothing too bright or outstanding but enough to give him some jazz. These guys are well made. They use the most interesting materials to make the animals. You also get a code for the web site which is kind of like Neopets but better. My niece and my daughter both have a great time playing online and in real life with their furry friends. They each have this guy plus two others."

My little girl's first Webkinz was the Pink Pony. It didn't look so cute in the photos but in "person" it's adorable and cuddly. Now she has 3 Webkinz these little things are addicitive. The Webkinz Quizzy game is educational, but the cards are for acquiring items such as food, coupons, furniture, etc.and so I would not say the cards themselves are educational. I bought these for my granddaughter and I get as excited as she does when she types in the code on the trading card. It's so much fun to put the codes in and discover what unusual gifts you will receive or extra Kinz Cash that you get.

"I bought this Webkinz Yorkie Puppy for my 9 year old daughter and a chihuahua for my 5 year old son. The Yorkie is a cute furry dog with little bow that is perfect for little girls who like things cute and pretty. It is kinda way too furry with longer hair than the chihuahua but that is what gives this dog it's special and unique characteristics. "The webkinz black bear is one of the cutest webkinz of them all. This toy, to my surprise, is not very popular. But that is the cool thing about it. When you go online, you don't see that many of them. I have shown my friends this bear and they all want it, and agree that it is just adorable. It's a little different than some of the other webkinz, but that makes it a unique cutey. It keeps in really good shape, and is really very interesting. I think any age could enjoy it. "The Webkinz elephant is very cute. What more can you say. It is virtually impossible to find in the stores. The ability to access the Webkins webpage with all of its games is a real plus that my ten-year old daughter really enjoys. (It is a very safe site for kids.) My daughter loves to play with the animals and my son loves to get online and play the arcade style games to win kinzcash so he can buy food, clothes, cars, and accessories for the animals. It is very safe online place for kids, they can send messages back and forth but they are pre-scripted sentences that kids can choose from, they cant write their own."

"The Beagle is my personal favorite. I have four kids ages 3 to 13 boys & girls. The 3 year old can only play with the stuffed animal and he feels like his siblings by having one, but he's too young for the website. My 7 and 10 year old use this the most and all their friends and cousins similar ages. The 13 year old boy isn't interested, but knows girls this age that are, but he's able to do trivia with them to get them more points. I myself as a mom like the solitare, trivia, and a bunch of other things. There is an educational value because the trivia gives you interesting information to go with the answer and it makes you think, along with other aspects of life. If you have an 8th grader, you may have heard of "second life". This is like "second life" but for younger kids, so my 8th grader says. The website was very creative.

Downside: The customer service at Webkinz on the site is very poor. You only get one year to use this website unless you buy another to extend it. If you buy another, it extends your account to one year from that day instead, so if you have many of these (my kids have 25+ each which they keep earning allowance to buy) close together in dates, you may get a 1 1/2 to 3 years or so out of it, which is long enough for this fad perhaps. Tamagotchi was their thing before this, but this is better than computer games and software and you can play other kids some games online in a safe manner. Only two of our webkinz have ripped open, and I sewed them, and the manufacturer didn't seem to care even though they were not abused and were practically new. They keep coming out with new animals or types of each animal. It's a great gift!"

For those who may not know, Webkinz are stuffed animals that come with a virtual counterpart that you can tend to online. The Webkinz world also includes games and other activities that will keep children busy for hours. There is also virtual money kids can use to buy pet food and other supplies. The site is also appealing since it is not related to a particular TV network. It also does not bombard children with promotions for DVDs, other shows, or products. It goes without saying that if you have convictions against excessive screen time, this probably isn't the stuffed animal for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a fun activity your children can do independently, this is a lot of fun. (parents might even enjoy it too).

"The cow is very cute, and fun. It is great to play with too. I would definateley reccomend this to other kids my age. It also looks really cute on the computer image. This webkinz cow is very soft and comfortable. I love to spend most of my free time playing my webkinz and it is very special. A reccomendation for Webkinz is that you should go to the arcade and play the wheel of wow, and the wishing well to get money, and to go to the curio shop, and hunt for gems. At first webkinz is a little confusing on what to do, and where to go, but don't get frustrated because you will understand it soon. Always rember to feed and let your webkinz sleep or it will get sick and you will have to take it to the clinic and the doctor will tell you what to do. You will usually be able to tell if your pet is sick. In the corner of the screen there will be a picture of your webkinz, and if it is sick it will have an icebag on their head. Always rember to take good care of your webkinz. Good luck!"

"I bought the Webkinz Pink Pig as an Easter gift for my granddaughter. It was an instant hit, in fact it went to Mass with us. It's soft, cuddly, has a sweet face, and it seems to be made very well. A great feature is that each Webkinz comes with it's own particular adoption number, the children 'adopt' their little Webkinzs. They are reasonably priced, which is a good thing, because most kiddies 'adopt' more than one. Highly recommend these adorable Webkinzs."

Webkinz animals come with a special internet webkinz code where your child can interact with it. They can name it, make it a home, even play games. Not recommended for children under 3.

"Webkinz stuffed animals come with a code that allows the user to register the "pet" on a website. Your child can name the pet, decide it's gender, and then log on to play with it. So, you are not just buying the stuffed animal, you are also buying access to a website that gives you virtual money to buy pet supplies and virtual locations in which you can feed, groom, and entertain your pet. I am assuming while you do this the "real" stuffed animal sits alone in another room. The virtual animal has a meter that lets you know how happy and well-fed it is. If you neglect it, it will suffer (or at least become less happy)."

I suppose some could argue this is a good way to teach children about the responsibility of pets or to let them feel as if they have a real pet (but without the mess).
